Absolutely awful, completely mediocre food backed up by mediocre service backed up by horrible loud music. So many better places on the Ave to go to.

Finally tonight we made our way over to Mastino and I'm happy we did. This little gem is the high end Italian style food we've been looking for. The place was a little dead, but hey, it's summer in Florida so that is par for the course. Bartender Eric was double tasked with waiting on us at the bar and hosting the Dining in the Dark. Because they were slow I feel like they could have helped him a little more to keep up with everything. We started with the Brussels Sprout salad, which was delicious. Tangy and crunchy, and most importantly, not overdressed. Outstanding. I had the Chicken stack and my husband had the Chicken under a Brick. Both were super flavorful, perfectly seasoned and came out hot and fresh. We will definitely be back to try the pizza!

I went for dining in the dark. You need to make reservations. They currently offer -it Tues-Thurs 6pm or 8pm seating. It is in a small room that is darkened but you can still see once your eyes adjust. They gave us face masks to wear. In the future they will offer it in a blackout room where the staff will wear night vision goggles and you can't cheat and see your food. Bruschetta when you sit down followed by: 1st course: spinach, red onion, and vinegrette 2nd course: fried eggplant stack with layer of mozzarella and tomato 3rd course: baked chicken, capers, olives, olive oil sauce, roasted garlic and tomatoes Dessert is exctra....we had a chocolate mouse that was delicious. While you are eating each course they will ask you what you think you are eating. It is fun to see how your senses change when you can't see what you are eating. I ate most of my meal with my hands which helped to decipher what was stuff by touch. The food is EXCELLENT and portions are large. the staff is great also. The only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is that it is not a completely blacked out room. I will be back!

I wasn't a big fan of this restaurants food however the customer service, live band and atmosphere was great! I ordered the meatball sliders, this was delicious. My cousin ordered the shrimp and calamari but this dish did not meet my standards. I had to send it back. I'm used to calamari bring crispy. I guess they fry it and then mix it in a sauce which takes away from the crispness. The Brooklyn pizza was OK but nothing to order again. I give this place 2 stars for food but 4 stars for their customer service, decor, and atmosphere.

Friday night... And we have walked by this place a million and one times. It's just off the Ave, tucked away in a corner. When you walk in the front door you have a choice of SoLita or Mastino restaurant. We were drawn here by a Yelp event but arrived at the end to see the student band pack up. We saw another band setting up do we decided to stay. Ordered a mozzarella cheese dish ( yum) and a handmade pizza. So many pizzas it was hard to choose. The food and as about 3-5 stars But 5 stars go to the UNBELIEVABLE Band. Truly worthy of the price of a drink, an appetizer and a pizza.

Mastino by Solita has a great atmosphere, the staff is extremely friendly. I recommend trying the pizza; the crust was crispy and the toppings were high quality.

My boyfriend and I swung by Mastino as we wanted to try a new restaurant for "date night." We had heard about Mastino from a few friends, and we were SOOOO very surprised at how wonderful the food was. The appetizers were out of this world. We had the chicken parmesan and the meatballs. Both were absolutely amazing. In addition to the appetizers, we had to get pizza, which was to die for. I don't think I stopped thinking about it since we ate it a few weeks ago. We ended the night with the dessert pizza. It was a nutella and mascarpone with powdered sugar, and it was just the perfect way to wrap up the meal. Since eating there, we have suggested the restaurant to a ton of friends and family, and we have heard nothing but good things from those who have tried it. We can't wait to go back. The atmosphere was lovely, and it was a perfect date night for us!

The customer service was amazing. The atmosphere was so relaxing. It felt great to be outside on a warm South Florida night. Unfortunately the food was not up to par. We ordered the calamari & shrimp bowl enough for sharing asked the waitress if it was crispy she answered that it was, but when we received it, the dish was far from crispy. I ended up ordering the salad with meatball, the Greens tasted old. The meatball is the only thing that saved the dish. I don't plan on going back there anytime soon.

My friends and I purchased a deal to participate in the pizza class here. We all arrived, some of us driving almost an hour to get there, and the owner (which is all the instructor) forgot about scheduling the class. He was obnoxious and took absolutely no blame for him forgetting. He did have his manager, Christof, serve us a few pizzas and told us to reschedule, which is the reason I gave it a 2. The food was delicious and the manager was gracious but to date, I have emailed and called several times with no response. They dont really care about their customers there or repeat business. A real shame.

They have a eggplant stack (fried eggplant, mozzarella, arugula, tomatoes and balsamic vinegar) that is FABULOUS! The calamari is cooked to perfection! My red sangria is full of fresh fruit and extremely refreshing.

Food is extremely overpriced for what you get. The pizza isn't anything spectacular. The tables are uncomfortable. On the way to the restroom you can see right into the kitchen, but don't look because on the particular night I went it was a mess! Made me think twice about the soggy, overpriced pizza I just consumed. If guests can see into your kitchen you should at least keep it tidy. They also do not have pepperoni, my server informed me that it isn't italian. Really? Lol my server was nice and attentive, so that's why I give them two starts. I spent $43.00 (including tip) on a drink, a personal pizza, and a salad. I could have went to Anthonys Coal Fired and had an awesome meal for 3!

Honestly, everything about my experience at Mastino was excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive as well as extremely knowledgeable of all the menu items, the decor is rustic yet elegant, and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is just wonderful. Let's talk about the food, though. Considering Mastino boasts a uniquely crafted pizza oven, created from volcanic rocks of Mt. Vesuvius itself (seriously!), the pizza is a must have. My boyfriend and I shared two pizzas- one white, sans tomato sauce, and one red- and my favorite by far was the Pomodorini. While maintaining all the trappings of delicious pizza, it is much lighter than most, with a delicious thin crust and fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, basil, and Parmesan. This is not the kind of pizza to leave one feeling uncomfortable after two slices, like most, but is still satisfying in the best way. The beer is awesome as well- we had the "Helles Yeah" that is on tap, and even though I usually shy away from beer with dinner (too heavy for me), I was happily surprised by it. Mastino is a must if you're in downtown Delray, and I will be returning as soon as possible!

This vibe is cool and casual. TV's line the room but not in your face. The wood fire pizza oven aroma is so good. I had the BROOKLYN pizza and the brussel sprout salad, my friends ordered the meatballs, rotisserie chicken, kale salad and mussels -- I got to try them all -- the small plates are great for sharing good selection of craft beers. Everything was outstanding, overall a really great experience. I look forward to coming back again, like today! -- and live music on Friday night after 9, thats a PLUS in my book.

First time diner there. Ordered the special full rack baby back ribs. Waiter indicated they fall off bone. Yeh right. I had to chew them off bone. Tough. What I also found weird and stupid is they bring food out as they are ready. So some of your party eats and the rest sit there and watch me eat. I got my ribs and everyone else waited for their entrees. By the time I chewed through the ribs, my friends still didn't get entrees. Really. NEVER NEVER do u serve a table in pieces. Ask Chef Ramsey. Everyone needs to be served at once. Common sense. I don't care if it's a fine dining restaurant or a tapas place, every dish needs to come out at once. Not sure if I'd eat there again. Get it right owners. Oh, and even after I told the General Manager Sal the ribs sucked, no response. Great service.

The service was extremely slow And the food was not worth the wait. The pizza had very little fresh motzerella which is their claim to fame it was mainly dough with little sauce definitely not worth the eighteen dollars for the 12 inch I'm sorry we ate there when delray has such great restaurants

The food is really delicious. Ask for Miller - awesome waiter. The management was not good. It was clear that Miller had too many tables and there wasn't enough bus service to support. We sat with dirty dishes in front of us for a while. Also, the manager interrupted Miller while he was taking our order ... Told him to go get a drink order for another table. Not cool. The manager should do more and order staff around less.

I must say, i like to think of myself as an expert when it comes to pizza.I spent most of my life growing up in Staten island and new jersey where eating pizza was a weekly treat.Since coming to Florida 3 years ago i really haven't had any real good pizza, close a few times but never really hit the spot.Thats untill i walked into Mastinos, i was amazed by the atmosphere from the old rustic look to the wood burning oven.I was greeted by a nice gentleman named Sal and young lady named Amanda who made me feel right at home and asked me if i would like a table but i suggested the bar. Then i was greeted by a very nice bartender named lexi who asked me if i would like something to drink so i asked what do you recommend for wine and she poured me a taste of malbec out of a tap which was amazing perfect temp never had wine out of a tap and it was great. Then as i started to look at the menu and a gentleman named Sal walked over from behind the bar in front of the oven and we began to talk.We spoke about all his different pies and he recommended the truffle pie and told me that was Furios favorite who was one of the pizza makers.Watching Furio make this pie was awsome as the pie was being made Sal was talking to me all about his pizza i never in my life met somebody with so much passion. When the pizza came out the oven the smell of truffle hit the air my first bite down to my last was out of this world.I must say this was by far my best experience in florida and i want to say thanks to everybody at Mastinos for making that possible i will be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
